A recent investigative report by CNN has claimed that Iran achieved significant military success by targeting advanced radar and air defense systems across several regional countries at the start of hostilities.
According to the report, satellite image analysis suggests that Iran destroyed a modern THAAD radar system in Jordan early in the conflict. The THAAD system is considered one of the most advanced missile defense technologies used to detect and intercept incoming threats.
The investigation further states that two locations in the United Arab Emirates were also targeted, where THAAD radar installations reportedly suffered damage. However, analysts noted that because one of the radar systems was located inside a building, assessing the exact extent of the damage remains difficult.
In addition, the report claims that an early warning radar system in Qatar was also destroyed during the attacks. These systems play a key role in detecting missile launches and aerial threats, making them critical components of national defense networks.
CNN’s analysis suggests that Iran focused on disabling communication networks, radar installations, and intelligence equipment in an effort to weaken regional air defense capabilities.

Military experts say that targeting such infrastructure could temporarily reduce the effectiveness of missile defense systems and create operational challenges for affected countries.
Authorities from the concerned nations have not publicly confirmed the extent of the reported damage.
The developments come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, where military exchanges and cross-border strikes have increased concerns about broader regional instability.
