Web Desk: The US attacks on Iran have entered new phase after the American military confirmed a fourth wave of strikes that lasted around seven hours.

The operation reportedly targeted dozens of Iranian military sites, further increasing tensions in the region.

According to the US military, the latest US attacks on Iran were carried out on the night of July 14.

The operation came shortly after the United States reimposed a naval blockade on ships travelling to and from Iranian ports, adding to the growing US-Iran conflict.

Military officials said the air campaign continued for nearly seven hours and ended at around 10pm Eastern Time. Fighter jets, drones and naval warships reportedly used precision-guided weapons during the operation.

The statement said the main focus of the US attacks on Iran was military installations and coastal areas located near the Strait of Hormuz.

The strikes reportedly targeted Iranian missile and drone facilities, naval assets, coastal defence systems and several other military positions.

US officials said the purpose of the operation was to weaken Iran’s ability to threaten commercial ships and civilian crews passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

They claimed the targeted facilities were linked to Iran’s military capabilities in the strategic waterway.

On the same day, the United States also restored its naval blockade on vessels heading to or departing from Iranian ports and coastal areas.

The move has further intensified the US-Iran conflict, raising concerns about possible military escalation.

The US military said all of its forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to carry out further orders from the US president if required.

Analysts warned that the latest US attacks on Iran and increasing military activity around the Strait of Hormuz could disrupt global shipping routes and energy supplies. They said continued tensions may also affect oil markets and regional stability.

The international community has urged both countries to reduce tensions and return to diplomatic talks to avoid a wider conflict in the Middle East.
