(Web Desk): A new UN report has revealed that 63 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany, were complicit in Israel’s two-year genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The report, prepared by Francesca Albanese, the UN’s special rapporteur on Palestine, stated that Israel’s atrocities were not carried out alone but with the help of “third states”. These nations, the report said, enabled and legitimised Israel’s violent actions against Palestinians.

According to the findings, powerful Western nations failed to uphold basic human rights and instead allowed “colonial and racial-capitalist practices” to persist, giving Israel space to carry out systematic violence in Gaza.

The report said this genocide must be viewed as an “internationally enabled crime”. It accused many Western states of “facilitating, legitimising and normalising” Israel’s attacks by adopting its false narrative of Palestinian civilians as “human shields”.

The document compared the situation to past apartheid regimes such as those in South Africa and Rhodesia, saying that global laws once used to end colonial oppression should now be applied against Israel.

It further criticised the international community for double standards, noting its refusal to hold Israel accountable despite clear international court orders.

The report also detailed that the United States, Germany, and Italy are among Israel’s largest arms suppliers. It revealed that between October 2023 and October 2025, 26 states, including China, India, and France, sent at least 10 consignments of “arms and ammunition” to Israel.

Moreover, the report claimed the US transferred 742 shipments of weapons and approved billions in new arms deals since October 2023. Britain, while not directly supplying arms, reportedly allowed a US supply line through its bases in Cyprus.

It also stated that third countries worsened Gaza’s humanitarian crisis by failing to deliver sufficient aid. Between October 2023 and January 2025, Gaza received only 107 aid trucks per day — one-third of pre-war levels — while famine spread across the region.

Countries like Canada, the UK, Belgium, and Jordan, instead of opposing Israel’s blockade, resorted to expensive and ineffective air drops. The UN noted that Israel deliberately targeted UN warehouses, schools, and hospitals, killing more than 370 aid workers.

Trade between Israel and several countries, including Germany, Italy, and the UAE, continued to rise despite global calls for sanctions. The report urged nations to suspend trade in dual-use products with Israel, just as the EU did with Russia during the Ukraine invasion.

The UN’s revelations have reignited debate over global responsibility in the Gaza crisis. It highlights how powerful nations, while promoting democracy and human rights, have turned a blind eye to genocide. The report shows that ending Gaza’s suffering will require not just aid, but accountability and the courage to act against injustice.
