(Web Desk): UAE work visa rules for Pakistanis have become stricter as a police character certificate is now mandatory for every applicant.

Pakistanis planning to work in the United Arab Emirates will now have to meet a new requirement before applying for a work visa. Every applicant must submit a police character certificate as part of the visa process.

According to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment, the UAE government has introduced this new condition for Pakistani citizens. The rule has officially been in effect since July 20.

Under the new procedure, applicants must first obtain a Good Conduct or Police Character Certificate from the relevant authority in Pakistan. After receiving the certificate, they must get it verified by the UAE Embassy in Pakistan.

The Bureau of Emigration has advised all applicants to complete this document before submitting their work visa application. Officials say this will help avoid delays or complications during the visa approval process.

Millions of Pakistanis are living and working in the UAE, while thousands more travel there every year in search of employment. The new requirement is intended to make the work visa process more organized, transparent and properly documented.

People planning to apply for a UAE work visa are encouraged to prepare all required documents in advance. Completing the verification process early can help applicants avoid unnecessary problems later.

The new rule may make the visa process longer, but it is expected to improve document verification and strengthen background checks. Applicants who complete the required paperwork on time are likely to face fewer delays during the visa process.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has tightened its visa approval process, creating new challenges for people planning to travel or work in the Gulf country. The move is affecting applicants from several countries and raising concerns among families seeking better opportunities abroad.

For years, the UAE has been a top destination for millions of workers from Asia and Africa. The country has offered employment opportunities, business prospects and hopes for a better future.

The latest changes could affect thousands of people who are preparing to move to the Gulf region. Travel agents and immigration experts say applicants should now expect stricter scrutiny and longer processing times.

According to reports, applicants from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Sudan are facing unusual difficulties in obtaining UAE visas. Several other nationalities may also experience tighter screening measures.

Although no complete list of affected countries has been officially released, industry sources say approval rates have declined in recent weeks. Many applicants are reporting delays and visa rejections.

UAE authorities say the stricter measures are linked to security and administrative requirements. Officials believe the changes are necessary to improve oversight and strengthen immigration controls.

Sources from the travel and immigration sector say visa applications are now being reviewed more carefully than before. This has slowed down approvals and affected hiring processes in some industries.

Recruitment activity in certain sectors has reportedly become slower. Employers are also facing challenges in bringing in new workers.
