Trump’s Iran war U-turn: Blames advisers for strike decision
(Web Desk): US President Donald Trump makes a dramatic Iran war U-turn, saying advisers including Jared Kushner pushed him toward strikes amid fears Tehran planned attacks.

Donald Trump has made a dramatic policy shift regarding the United States’ military strikes on Iran, claiming that close advisers influenced his decision to authorize the attacks.

Speaking at a press conference in Florida, Trump said the situation with Iran had escalated rapidly and reached what he described as a “point of no return.” According to media reports, the US president acknowledged that the advice of key aides played a decisive role in shaping Washington’s military response.

Advisers Played Key Role in Decision

Trump revealed that he consulted with several senior figures before approving the strikes, including negotiator Steve Witkoff, senior adviser Jared Kushner, and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

According to Trump, discussions with these advisers convinced him that Iran was preparing a potential attack against the United States. He claimed that intelligence assessments suggested Tehran could launch an assault within a week if Washington failed to act preemptively.

“If the United States had not taken pre-emptive action, Iran could have attacked within a week,” Trump said, defending the controversial military decision.

Claims of Military Success Against Iran

Trump also highlighted what he described as the success of the US strikes. He claimed that American forces destroyed 51 Iranian naval boats during the operations and targeted facilities involved in the production of military drones.

The US president asserted that these strikes significantly weakened Iran’s drone capabilities, claiming that Iranian drone attacks had dropped by 83 percent following the destruction of key manufacturing sites.

Trump further stated that the United States possesses low-cost defensive interceptor systems capable of effectively countering Iranian drone threats.

Warning Over Strait of Hormuz and Oil Supply

Trump issued a strong warning to Tehran over global energy security, specifically mentioning the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

He cautioned that if Iran attempts to disrupt international oil shipments or close the vital shipping lane, the United States would respond with severe military action.

The US president also suggested that Washington might consider easing certain oil-related sanctions to stabilize global energy markets and prevent major disruptions in oil supply.

Trump Says Iran War Could End Soon

Despite the strong rhetoric, Trump indicated that the ongoing tensions with Iran could end sooner than expected. He said there remains a possibility that the conflict may conclude quickly if Tehran refrains from further escalation.

Trump also mentioned reports of a suspected attack on a girls’ school in Iran, stating that investigations are underway. At the same time, he expressed dissatisfaction with Iran’s new leadership and said it remains to be seen whether Tehran will choose the path of peace or continue confrontation.

The latest remarks reflect a shifting narrative from the US president as the geopolitical crisis involving Iran continues to evolve and global powers closely monitor developments in the Middle East.
