Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, giving the country 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face severe consequences.

Strait of Hormuz is a crucial international trade route, used by many countries for trading, its blockage has caused economical loss too many countries.

The US president has warned Iran to reopen Strait of Hormuz in 48-hours or face severe consequences that could impact global trade and oil prices as well.

President Trump expressed his anger over Iran’s continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a direct threat to global trade.

He also has warned Iran that if they will continue the blockage of Strait of Hormuz, the US would target Iranian power plants, starting with the largest facility, to force compliance.

In a statement on his Truth Social account, Trump said the US would systematically dismantle Iran’s power infrastructure as a response to the blockade.

The ongoing blockade has already intensified the global energy crisis, causing oil prices to rise continuously and affecting international markets.

The closure came after sudden attacks by Israel and the US on Iran on February 28, 2026, prompting Tehran to respond by shutting down the strategic waterway.
