(Web Desk): Donald Trump claims US-Israel strike on Iran prevented nuclear war and World War III, saying Tehran was weeks away from building nuclear weapons.

Donald Trump has defended the ongoing military action against Iran, claiming that failure to strike could have triggered a nuclear conflict leading to World War III.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump described the operation as a necessary step, not a choice, arguing that Iran’s nuclear ambitions posed an immediate global threat.

“Iran Was Close to Nuclear Weapons”

Trump alleged that Iran was just one month away from acquiring nuclear weapons, which he claimed could have been used against Israel and across the Middle East.

He stated that the US and its allies had taken decisive action to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, calling it a move that “prevented catastrophic destruction.”

Criticism of Obama-Era Nuclear Deal

Trump also criticized the previous nuclear agreement under Barack Obama, claiming it brought Iran closer to developing nuclear weapons.

According to Trump, withdrawing from the deal was essential, adding that Iran could have obtained nuclear capabilities years earlier if the agreement had remained in place.

Claims About Iran’s Military Capabilities

The former US president further claimed that Iran currently lacks a functional navy, air force, air defense system, and centralized leadership, alleging that key figures in Iran’s leadership structure are no longer active.

He also referenced the deployment of B-2 Spirit aircraft, suggesting that earlier military action prevented Iran from achieving nuclear capability.

Iran Rejects Trump’s Claims

Iranian officials have strongly rejected these allegations, maintaining that the country is not pursuing nuclear weapons.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that Iran’s military strategy focuses only on US military installations in the region and not neighboring countries.

Rising Tensions in the Middle East

The exchange of claims highlights escalating tensions between United States and Iran, raising concerns about a broader regional conflict and global security risks. Analysts warn that continued escalation could destabilize the Middle East further.
