Saudi Arabia announces same-day visa processing for Pakistanis
The announcement came as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia agreed to expand cooperation in energy, petroleum, oil storage, refinery upgrades and mineral resources.
The developments could strengthen ties between the two countries and create new opportunities for investment.
The decisions were announced after Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik met Saudi Arabia’s newly appointed ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Rajeh bin Tami Al-Baqami.
Saudi Embassy Introduces Faster Visa Service
During the meeting, the minister announced that the Saudi embassy in Islamabad had introduced same-day processing of visa applications for Pakistani citizens.
The move could help applicants receive faster decisions on their applications. However, same-day processing does not necessarily mean that every visa will be approved on the same day.
Applicants should confirm the applicable visa category, required documents and submission procedure with the embassy or authorised visa service.
The announcement is important for Pakistanis who travel to Saudi Arabia for work, business, family visits and other purposes.
They should check the latest official instructions before submitting applications or making travel arrangements.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Plan More Energy Cooperation
Alongside the visa announcement, both countries discussed ways to increase cooperation in important economic sectors.
The talks covered oil storage facilities, refinery upgrades, energy supplies and mineral exploration.
These areas are important for Pakistan as it looks for investment, improved energy security and opportunities to develop its natural resources.
The two sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation through their existing relationship. Stronger partnerships in these sectors could support investment and create opportunities for businesses in both countries.

Saudi Mining Official Invited to Pakistan
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik also invited Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Mining, Khalid al-Mudafier, to attend the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum.
The event is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on November 12 and 13. The invitation aims to encourage greater Saudi interest in Pakistan’s mineral resources and investment opportunities.
Pakistan has been seeking foreign investment in mining and other natural-resource sectors. Saudi participation could help strengthen commercial links and open discussions on future projects.
Both Countries Reaffirm Strong Ties
During the meeting, both sides highlighted their longstanding defence and strategic partnership. They said their cooperation could support regional peace, stability and economic growth.
The Saudi ambassador said Riyadh deeply appreciated Pakistan’s longstanding support. He also stressed the close relationship between the two countries and their continued cooperation in defence and energy.
The Pakistani minister reaffirmed that Islamabad valued its historic relationship with Saudi Arabia and wanted to expand cooperation across strategic sectors.
