Moscow sharply criticised Donald Trump and Israel for launching strikes on Iran. Russian officials described the move as reckless and said it could set the entire region on fire.
The United States and Israel carried out attacks targeting Iran’s leadership. The strikes have triggered a fresh wave of military confrontation in the Middle East, raising fears of a prolonged conflict.
President Trump defended the operation, saying it would remove a security threat to the US and give Iranians an opportunity to topple their rulers. However, Russia strongly rejected this justification and warned that such actions could lead to serious and unpredictable consequences.
Russian authorities said the attack was “dangerously irresponsible” and accused Washington and Tel Aviv of destabilising an already fragile region. According to Moscow, the violence risks expanding beyond Iran and dragging more countries into war.
The situation has already increased tensions across the Middle East. Many observers fear retaliation and counter-retaliation could follow, making diplomacy harder to achieve.

"Washington and Tel Aviv have once again embarked on a dangerous adventure that is rapidly bringing the region closer to a humanitarian, economic, and possibly radiological catastrophe," Russia's foreign ministry said.
"By plunging the Middle East into an abyss of uncontrolled escalation, they are actually encouraging countries around the world, primarily in the region, to acquire more and more serious means against emerging threats."
Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia's powerful Security Council, chided U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday for the attack on Iran and questioned Washington's staying power given the relatively short history of the United States compared to that of Persia's civilisation.
"The peacekeeper is at it again. The talks with Iran were just a cover. Everyone knew that," Medvedev, a former Russian president, said in English.
"So who has more patience to wait for the enemy’s sorry end now? The US is just 249 years old. The Persian Empire was founded over 2500 years ago. Let’s see what happens in 100 years or so…"
Russia is clearly taking a strong stand against the US and Israel. Big powers are now openly disagreeing. This makes the crisis more serious. If global leaders do not calm things down, the conflict may grow bigger and harder to control.
