Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan dispatches an additional 100 tonnes of aid to Palestine, taking the total humanitarian support to 2,827 tonnes.

Under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sent another shipment of humanitarian aid to Palestine. The latest consignment includes 100 tonnes of food items for the people of Gaza.

The shipment was sent through a chartered flight from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to Egypt. From there, the aid will be delivered onward to Gaza. The food items include dates, flour, rice, and cooking oil to support families facing severe shortages.

With this latest delivery, Pakistan’s total humanitarian assistance to Palestine has reached 2,827 tonnes. So far, 29 consignments have been dispatched since the conflict began, according to official sources.

A send-off ceremony was held at the airport. Senior officials from NDMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and other government departments attended the event. Just days earlier, the 28th consignment carrying 100 tonnes of tents and tarpaulins was also sent to support displaced families.

Pakistan started sending humanitarian aid through Egypt soon after the conflict escalated in October 2023. The first batch of assistance left Islamabad on October 19, 2023, and was routed through Egypt for delivery to Gaza.

In January 2024, a Pakistani aircraft carrying 20 tonnes of aid arrived at El-Arish. The supplies were handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which then ensured their delivery to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Gaza.

Although a ceasefire agreement was signed in October 2025 to stop fighting and address issues of hostages and prisoners, reports indicate that violations have continued, and aid access remains limited through tightly controlled routes.

Pakistan has repeatedly expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and pledged to continue humanitarian support during the crisis.
