(Web Desk): A US journalist predicts Benjamin Netanyahu could face jail after leaving office as corruption cases intensify, raising fresh political turmoil in Israel.

A controversial prediction by a prominent American investigative journalist has reignited debate over the political future of Benjamin Netanyahu, suggesting that Israel’s longest-serving premier could ultimately face jail time after leaving office.

The claim, which has stirred global attention, comes amid ongoing corruption trials against Netanyahu in Tel Aviv courts. While such concerns were previously voiced mainly by opposition groups within Israel, the issue has now gained renewed traction following alleged new evidence and investigative reporting.

New Evidence and Allegations Surface

American journalist Tucker Carlson has reportedly presented documentary material and claimed the existence of videos that could strengthen the prosecution’s case against Netanyahu.

According to the report, Netanyahu allegedly received expensive gifts from arms dealers in exchange for business advantages. It also claims that during police investigations, Netanyahu admitted to accepting gifts in his and his wife’s name.

Unverified video footage has also surfaced, allegedly showing Netanyahu threatening investigators. However, independent verification of this material has not yet been confirmed.

Ongoing Corruption Trials and Legal Risks

Netanyahu currently faces three major corruption cases that have been under trial for several years. Legal analysts suggest that if the allegations are proven, he could be forced to step down and subsequently face imprisonment.

Observers note that the outcome of these cases—expected before upcoming elections—could significantly alter Israel’s political landscape.

Political Pressure and Declining Support

Experts on Israeli politics believe the corruption scandal could trigger a major shift, particularly as public dissatisfaction grows. Opposition movements, including liberal and left-leaning groups, have intensified their campaigns against Netanyahu.

The political pressure has persisted despite major regional conflicts, including the ongoing war in Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, and heightened tensions involving Iran. Analysts say these developments have further eroded Netanyahu’s support base.

With elections scheduled in 2026, experts argue that Netanyahu may struggle to form a government even with support from far-right allies.

Trump Angle and Pardon Speculation

The controversy has also drawn in Donald Trump, with reports suggesting attempts to push for a potential pardon for Netanyahu. However, the authority to grant clemency lies with Isaac Herzog, who has reportedly resisted any external pressure.

So far, Netanyahu or his office has not issued an official response to the latest allegations.
