Islamabad (Web Desk): Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that Netanyahu attacked Iran to divert global attention from Gaza.

He made the remarks on X amid rising tensions following US-Israeli strikes on Iran and the reported assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Asif explained that by targeting Iran, Netanyahu shifted the international spotlight away from Gaza. This distraction, he added, allows Israel to quietly continue its “genocidal agenda” in Gaza and the West Bank.

The minister criticized Netanyahu’s “demonic personal ambitions,” saying they have plunged Palestine and much of the Middle East into one of the worst tragedies in human history.

Earlier, Asif warned that Israel’s strategic plans through the Iran conflict aim to extend its influence up to Pakistan’s border. He said this, along with the involvement of Western and allied powers, could threaten Pakistan’s security.

Asif described Zionism as a global threat. He said that, from Israel’s establishment on Palestinian land to the present day, wars and crises across the Islamic world are tied directly or indirectly to Zionist ideology.

He further stated that Zionism has controlled the global economy for decades, keeping major world powers under its influence.
