Kuwait (Web Desk): Kuwait limits office attendance to 30% and cuts work hours after Eid 2026, introducing flexible and remote work rules.

Kuwait has announced new workplace rules right after Eid al-Fitr 2026, bringing a major change for government employees. The decision reduces the number of workers allowed in offices and shortens daily working hours.

The new order has been issued by the Civil Service Commission and applies to all government departments. It aims to make work more flexible while reducing crowding in offices.

Under the policy, only 30% of employees can be present in offices at a time. Departments have been instructed to create rotation systems. This means employees can work on different days or weeks based on need.

The government has also allowed remote work wherever possible. This gives departments the option to let staff work from home to manage operations smoothly.

Working hours have been reduced to six hours per day. However, existing systems such as flexible timings and fingerprint-based attendance will continue as before.

Evening shifts will remain suspended until further notice. However, jobs that require shifts by law will continue without any change.

Employees who were already working reduced hours will now work only four hours a day under the new rules.

These changes will take effect immediately after the Eid holiday and will remain in place until the government issues new instructions.
