Kuwait (Web Desk): The General Directorate of Civil Defense has introduced a new mobile alert system to warn residents about possible dangers and emergencies.

Kuwait launches a mobile alert system for emergencies, introducing warning levels and notifications for public safety.

Officials said that recent alert messages received by the public were part of a trial test. Authorities asked people to disregard them and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

The new system aims to improve communication during emergencies and help people respond quickly in critical situations. It will send alerts based on the severity of the situation.

There will be three alert levels. Level one is the most serious and comes with a strong warning tone. Level two sends warning messages with a tone, while level three sends silent notifications.

Users will also be able to manage and customize their alert settings according to their preferences. This provides more control over how notifications are received.

The service has initially been launched on Android and Huawei devices. Authorities plan to expand it to Apple devices in the future.

The project is being developed in coordination with telecom companies and is part of the government’s broader plan to improve emergency preparedness and public safety.

This step shows Kuwait’s effort to use technology to keep people informed and safe during emergencies.
