Israeli army detains at least 48 Palestinians across West Bank as 8 are injured
Israeli forces detained at least 48 Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank, while eight others were injured in a separate attack, according to Palestinian media and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
More than 40 young Palestinian men were reportedly arrested during an ongoing Israeli military raid in the town of Tell, west of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
According to the official Voice of Palestine radio, Israeli troops took control of a house in Tell and turned it into a temporary interrogation center.
The forces also carried out searches of homes across the town and surrounded the area from different directions, the broadcaster reported.
The latest raids came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered a “wide-scale military operation” across Palestinian villages in the West Bank.
The decision followed an attack near the illegal Havat Gilad settlement in which two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others were wounded.
Palestinian sources and witnesses said Israeli occupiers later attacked several Palestinian communities in the Nablus governorate.
They were accused of setting fire to Palestinian homes and other property during the attacks.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said four Palestinians were killed on Friday during an attack by Israeli occupiers and Israeli forces in Tell.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces also carried out raids in Jenin city and several towns and villages across the Jenin governorate before dawn, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Troops searched several homes and detained five Palestinians, while military operations continued in different parts of the governorate.
Three more Palestinians were detained in the Bethlehem governorate, according to local sources cited by WAFA.
Another serious incident was reported in Farata, a village east of Qalqilya in the northwestern West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said eight Palestinians were injured in an attack by Israeli occupiers.
Six of those injured were reportedly hit by live fire. The organisation did not immediately provide more information about the attack or the current condition of those injured.
The developments have added to growing tension across the occupied West Bank, where raids, arrests and attacks have increased concerns about further violence.
