Israel has announced new airstrikes on Iran, claiming to have targeted key military positions in the cities of Qom and Isfahan as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.
According to the Israeli military, fighter jets carried out overnight strikes in Qom, destroying a ballistic missile launcher that was reportedly preparing for a potential attack against Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said the operation was aimed at neutralizing immediate threats linked to Iran’s missile capabilities.
In a separate strike, the Israeli military said it targeted Iranian air defense systems in Isfahan, a move intended to weaken Tehran’s ability to intercept future Israeli strikes or launch missile attacks.
Strategic Targets in Iran
Military officials stated that the targeted facilities were part of Iran’s defense and missile infrastructure, which Israel claims poses a growing threat to its national security.
Isfahan is considered a key strategic hub for Iran’s military and aerospace programs, while Qom has several sensitive security installations. Israeli officials argue that such operations are necessary to prevent further missile launches toward Israeli territory.
However, Iranian authorities have not yet released detailed statements confirming the extent of the damage caused by the strikes.
