Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has made it clear that the country does not seek war but will firmly defend its national rights if challenged.
In a written message read out on the completion of 40 days since the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Mojtaba Khamenei stressed Iran’s commitment to peace while maintaining a strong defensive stance. His father was killed in attacks on February 28, marking a turning point in Iran’s leadership and regional posture.
He stated that Iran has never desired conflict and has no intention of pursuing war in the future. However, he warned that any threat to the country’s sovereignty or national interests would be met with a decisive and powerful response.
Khamenei also highlighted that Iran’s resistance is part of a broader and unified front that includes various elements across the region. He suggested that the country is entering a new phase regarding the strategic management of the Strait of Hormuz, which could have far-reaching global implications.
