Iran claims strikes on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain
Iran has claimed responsibility for missile and drone attacks targeting US military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain, marking a significant escalation in tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the attacks were carried out in response to recent US military operations against Iranian targets. Iranian officials said the strikes targeted Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, as well as Jafr and Sheikh Isa military facilities in Bahrain.
The IRGC warned that additional US military sites across the region could be targeted if Washington launches further attacks. Iranian military officials described the operation as a direct response to what they called continued American aggression.
Iranian authorities also reported damage to two bridges on routes leading toward Mashhad following recent US attacks. The IRGC alleged that the strikes were intended to disrupt activities related to the funeral procession of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, though independent verification of the claim was not immediately available.
There has been no official confirmation from US authorities regarding the extent of the alleged attacks or any reported damage to military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The latest developments come amid growing military confrontation between Iran and the United States, raising concerns about a broader regional conflict. Security analysts warn that continued exchanges between the two countries could threaten stability across the Gulf region and increase risks to international shipping and energy supplies.
Global markets are also closely monitoring the situation, as any escalation involving key Gulf states could affect oil prices and regional security. Diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions remain uncertain as both sides continue to exchange warnings and military threats.
