(Web Desk): Eidul Fitr holidays have been officially announced in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, giving workers extended break to celebrate the festival.

Saudi authorities confirmed that Eidul Fitr holidays for both public and private sector employees will start on Wednesday, 18 March, which corresponds to 29 Ramazan 1447 Hijri. The holidays will continue for four days across the kingdom.

According to officials, government offices and work activities will resume on Sunday, 22 March. Employees across different sectors are expected to enjoy the festive break with their families during these days.

However, authorities clarified that the exact day of Eidul Fitr will depend on the sighting of the Shawwal moon. The official announcement will be made after moon sighting committees confirm the start of the new Islamic month.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has also announced Eidul Fitr holidays for federal government and private sector employees.
