(Web Desk): UAE has banned Eid prayers to be offered in open spaces due to security conditions in the region.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is traditionally celebrated with large communal prayers, often held in open spaces to accommodate significant crowds. However, this year’s measures reflect a precautionary approach by authorities to prioritize safety while still allowing worshippers to perform their religious obligations in an organized setting.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have decided to prohibit Eid al-Fitr prayers in open spaces this year, citing concerns related to the regional security environment.

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat announced that all Eid prayers will instead be conducted inside mosques throughout the country. As part of this directive, traditional open-air prayer grounds, which are typically used for large Eid gatherings, will not be utilized nationwide.

In an official statement, the authority confirmed that the decision applies across all emirates and emphasized that the move aims to ensure better organization and enhance public safety. Worshippers have been encouraged to attend their nearest mosques, which have been fully prepared to host large congregations for the occasion.

Officials also urged residents to strictly follow the guidelines and instructions issued by relevant authorities to ensure a smooth and orderly observance of the prayers. Adequate arrangements, they assured, have been made to accommodate the expected number of attendees within mosque premises.
