MADINAH: (Web Desk) Located about 110 kilometers south of Madinah, a unique valley named "Wadi-e-Khizra" (The Green Valley) by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), is famous for its greenery and springs.

The valley was formerly known as "Wadi-e-Ghabra" or "Wadi-e-Afrat", reflecting its arid condition.

However, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) changed its name to "Wadi-e-Khizra" after which nine springs of fresh water erupted in the valley and the area became green forever.

"Wadi-e-Khizra" is rich in lush vegetation and green trees throughout the year, with palm trees prominent.

Local people say that there is no special arrangement to take care of the palm trees here, but still, the valley remains green by itself.

They say the lack of basic facilities in the valley has led to the local population moving away from here, preserving the natural beauty of the valley.

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists in the valley.

The unique history and natural beauty of "Wadi-e-Khizra" have made it a popular tourist destination as people from far-flung areas visit the valley to learn about it and enjoy its lush green landscapes and freshwater springs.
