According to the Astronomical Society of Saudi Arabia, with the Sun coming exactly above the Kaaba, Muslims around the world will be able to accurately determine the direction of the Qibla even without a compass.

In such a situation, the Sun does not come parallel to the Kaaba, i.e. on the same vertical line, due to which the shadow of the Kaaba is not visible.

It is to be noted here that the Sun passes over the top of the Holy Kaaba twice a year.
