The new policy aims to simplify the visa renewals, and other related transactions, making them more efficient.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has launched an AI-powered online platform, Salama, which allows residents to renew their and their families  residency permits and visas within minutes through their phones.

Without the physical paper work, through Salama, one can log in, choose their renewal period, pay the required fee, and instantly download updated documents.

According to authorities, with the new initiative long queues and traditional transaction processes will be ended. Through this, users can manage their documentation without putting effort.
