According to reports, the ceasefire was requested by Israel. US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance presented the Israeli proposal for a ceasefire to the Emir of Qatar and said that Israel is willing to accept the ceasefire, help convince Iran to accept the ceasefire. US Vice President JD Vance and the Emir of Qatar agreed to the ceasefire.
US President Donald Trump issued a statement during midnight on his social media platform Truth Social and said, "Congratulations to everyone! A complete ceasefire has been agreed between Israel and Iran. Iran and Israel will complete their ongoing missions in the next 6 hours. The war will be considered over in the next 12 hours."
Donald Trump said that Iran will initiate the ceasefire and at the 12th hour, Israel will initiate a ceasefire and then 24 hours later the 12-day war will officially end. The world will appreciate it. During the ceasefire, the other side will remain peaceful and respectful. I would like to congratulate both countries for showing courage and intelligence to end what should be called the 12-day war.

Initially, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi partially denied the news of ceasefire through his social media account on X that currently there is no agreement on a ceasefire or cessation of military operations and the final decision on military action by Iran will be made later, if Israel stops its illegal aggression, then Iran also does not intend to retaliate further.
Araqchi further said in his message, as Iran has made clear many times that Israel started the war, not Iran. He added that Israel should have stopped its attacks by 4 am local time in Tehran, which has now passed.
