(Web Desk): Britain has granted permission to the United States to use its military bases for defensive operations amid rising regional tensions with Iran.

The United Kingdom has approved a request from the United States to use British military bases for defensive operations in response to escalating tensions involving Iran.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that the United States sought permission to access military facilities, and the request was granted following discussions between allies.

Starmer said the decision was taken to help deter Iran from launching further missile strikes in the region and to strengthen defensive coordination among partner nations. He emphasized that the primary objective of allowing base access is to protect British citizens and safeguard national security interests.

The prime minister added that Gulf partners have been calling for stronger defense cooperation amid growing instability in the Middle East. According to officials, supporting allied defensive measures is part of broader international efforts to maintain regional stability and prevent further escalation.
