The United Kingdom has approved a request from the United States to use British military bases for defensive operations in response to escalating tensions involving Iran.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that the United States sought permission to access military facilities, and the request was granted following discussions between allies.

Starmer said the decision was taken to help deter Iran from launching further missile strikes in the region and to strengthen defensive coordination among partner nations.
