Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Pop star Katy Perry have made their relationship public via a social media post, drawing global attention.
In an Instagram post shared on December 6, 2025, Katy Perry posted a series of intimate photos and videos from a recent trip to Tokyo including a cozy selfie of her and Trudeau smiling cheek to cheek and a clip showing them enjoying sushi together.
The caption read “Tokyo times on our tour and more underscoring the significance of the outing.”
Their “hard launch” comes after several months of dating rumors including sightings in Montreal in July, a public appearance in Paris for Perry’s 41st birthday in October ana a yacht outing off the coast of California.
Notably, during their Japan trip, they also met with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife. Kishida even referred to Perry as Trudeau’s partner in a social media post.

Fans have erupted online with excitement, many calling it one of 2025’s most surprising celebrity pairings.
Fow now, neither Perry nor Trudeau has issued a formal statement but the Instagram post appears to mark their first official confirmation of being a couple.
