Web Desk: Germany student visas for Pakistanis have increased as more young people seek higher education opportunities in the European country.

German Ambassador Dr Ina Lepel shared the update while speaking to journalists at the National Press Club on Monday.

The announcement brings fresh opportunities for Pakistani students in Germany who are planning to pursue higher education.

Germany responds to growing student visa demand

During the National Press Club’s international outreach programme, “Meet the Press”, the ambassador said the number of applications from Pakistani students had increased.

She acknowledged that the growing demand sometimes causes delays in visa processing. However, she said the German mission was working to simplify procedures and improve efficiency.

The increase in Germany student visas for Pakistanis is aimed at responding to this rising interest and providing more students with access to educational opportunities.

Why are Pakistani students choosing Germany?

Lepel described Germany as one of the preferred destinations for Pakistani students because of its quality universities, research facilities and welcoming academic environment.

The country offers opportunities for students interested in different academic fields. Its universities and research institutions also attract international students seeking advanced education and professional development.

For many Pakistani students in Germany, access to quality education and research opportunities is an important reason for choosing the country.

The latest announcement could make Germany an even more attractive option for students planning to study abroad.

However, applicants may still experience processing delays because of the rising number of applications.

Germany seeks stronger trade ties with Pakistan

During the meeting, the ambassador also discussed economic relations between Pakistan and Germany.

She said bilateral trade had not grown as much as expected despite the long-standing relationship between the two countries.

“I served in Pakistan in 2017 and have now returned as ambassador, but unfortunately there has not been significant improvement in bilateral trade volume,” she said.

Lepel added that both countries had considerable economic potential. She called for stronger cooperation in trade, investment and business activities to create benefits for both sides.

She said improved commercial relations could help Pakistan and Germany make better use of their economic opportunities.

Ambassador praises Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts

The German ambassador also spoke about recent regional developments and praised Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions.

She particularly appreciated Islamabad’s diplomatic role during the recent standoff between the United States and Iran.

According to Lepel, Pakistan’s efforts to encourage dialogue and prevent further instability were important for regional peace.
