(Web Desk): The Global Passport Index 2026 has been released, and once again the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been ranked the world’s most powerful passport.

According to the global ranking firm Arton Capital, the UAE secured the top position again, leaving all other countries behind. UAE citizens can travel to 179 countries without a visa.

In a surprising development, Singapore made a major leap this year, jumping from the 30th spot to second place, sharing the position with Spain. Citizens of both countries can travel visa-free to 175 destinations.

Ten countries jointly hold the third position, allowing their citizens visa-free entry to 174 countries. As the ranking continues downward, the weakest passports remain Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq, followed next by Pakistan.

Pakistan has been declared the fourth weakest passport in the world. It shares the 91st position with Somalia. Pakistani passport holders can travel to only 45 countries visa-free or with visa-on-arrival.

The report notes that a few countries performed slightly better than Pakistan, including Yemen (90), Bangladesh, North Korea, Palestine (89) and Eritrea (88). India, meanwhile, stands at the 69th position on the list.

The list shows a big gap between countries in travel freedom. UAE citizens enjoy very easy movement, while Pakistanis face many limits. This affects travel, business and global opportunities. The ranking also shows that regional countries are improving faster than Pakistan.
