He added that a longer promise from the U.S up to 50 years would better stop Russia from trying to take Ukrainian land in the future.
According to media reports, On Sunday U.S. President Donald Trump met Zelenskyy at his resort in Florida. Trump said that Ukraine and Russia are closer than ever to making a peace agreement.
Ukraine has been fighting Russia since 2014. The conflict began when Russia took control of Crimea illegally and supported armed groups in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region.
The reports reveal that Zelenskyy said the security guarantees would explain how a peace deal would be watched and how partner countries would be involved. He did not share full details. Russia has said it will not accept NATO troops being sent to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also said Trump may consider extending U.S. security support beyond 15 years. Any agreement would need approval from the U.S. Congress and from the parliaments of other countries involved.
According to the reports, Zelenskyy said he wants Ukrainians to approve the 20 point peace plan through a national vote.
