Jerusalem (Web Desk): Israel military completes forward deployment in south Lebanon along a defense line, amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah and rising tensions.

Israel Defense Forces has announced that it has completed the deployment of ground troops along a defensive line in southern Lebanon, where fighting continues with Iran-backed Hezbollah. The move is aimed at strengthening security and preventing further attacks on northern Israel.

The military did not share exact details about how far its troops have advanced inside Lebanese territory. However, reports in Israeli media suggest that forces are not expected to move beyond around 20km north of the border at this stage.

According to a military statement, troops have completed positioning along an anti-tank missile defence line. Forces will continue operations in the area to improve defensive positions and reduce threats to civilians living near the northern border.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has previously stated that the country aims to establish a security zone in southern Lebanon. This zone may extend up to the Litani River, which lies several kilometers inside Lebanon, to stop rocket and drone attacks.

Local media reports indicate that the military may present an operational plan to the government. This plan could include controlling villages close to the border to form a deeper security buffer zone.

Another report suggests that while Israel is preparing to strengthen its presence, there are currently no confirmed plans to push further into Lebanon beyond the existing front lines. The forces are believed to have reached positions defined in approved military plans. The current deployment is mainly focused on stopping anti-tank missile attacks. These weapons have a range of about 10km and pose a direct threat to communities in northern Israel.
