Marriage marks a significant life milestone, yet in various countries including China, younger generations are increasingly hesitant to marry due to rising living costs and increased personal responsibilities.
After decades of implementing the one-child policy, the Chinese government is now facing a rapidly declining birth rate and is offering various incentives to married couples, particularly those who have more than one child.
In a recent move to address this trend, the local government in Ningbo, an eastern Chinese city, has announced cash incentives designed to encourage young adults to register their marriage.

According to international media reports, couples who register their marriage between November and December 31 will receive cash vouchers from the government to help offset wedding expenses.
Ningbo’s Civil Affairs Department posted on its official WeChat account that newly married couples are eligible to receive eight vouchers, with a combined value of 1,000 yuan (approximately 40,000 Pakistani rupees).
These vouchers can be applied toward a wide array of wedding-related expenses, including photography, celebrations, hotel accommodations, retail purchases, and other services associated with marriage.
The official statement clarified that the vouchers are limited in number and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
