LAHORE: (Web Des) Brunei’s Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is the most beautiful mosque in the country. Built on an artificial pond, the mosque is considered to be the hallmark of Brunei.

The mosque was completed in 1958. Its architecture was deeply inspired by Italian craftsmanship. The mosque is built on an artificial pond on the banks of the Brunei River.

The 52-meter high mosque is easily visible from any part of Bandar Seri Begawan city. The pure gold domes, majestic corridors, courtyards and verdant gardens are considered to be its hallmark.

The marble minarets are equipped with modern electric staircases that lead to the top. The minarets of the mosque offer a commanding view of the city.
