NEW DELHI (Web Desk): India has suspended flight operations at its 27 airports amidst fear of retaliation from Pakistan.

According to Indian media reports, an additional 16 airports will remain closed until May 10, bringing the total number of non-operational airports to 27.

Reports state that over 430 flights were canceled in a single day, stranding thousands of passengers and causing widespread disruption.

The affected airports include Amritsar, Jammu, Shimla, Bhuj, Rajkot, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Chandigarh, Pathankot, Bathinda, Dharamshala, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Srinagar, Leh, Tezpur, Patiala, Halwara, Gaggal, and Bhuntar.

Sources in India s Civil Aviation Authority revealed that additional airports — including Kishangarh, Bikaner, Gwalior, Mundra, Kandla, Keshod, Ludhiana, and Hindon — have also been shut down over security concerns.

Panic has reportedly gripped Indian defense circles following intelligence reports of possible Pakistani action. As a result, both the Indian Air Force and civil aviation authorities remain on high alert.

Experts warn that the widespread closure of airports could severely impact India s civil aviation sector and economy. Meanwhile, Pakistan has dismissed India s fears as unfounded, attributing the shutdowns to internal insecurity and panic within India.
