Former US President Donald Trump has said the United States had no prior knowledge of Israel’s recent strike, calling it a sudden move made “in anger” targeting a relatively small area.
In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump claimed that even Iran was unaware of the Israeli operation beforehand. He described the situation as rapidly escalating but stressed that Washington was not involved in planning the attack.
Reacting strongly to Iran’s reported retaliatory strikes on LNG gas facilities in Qatar’s Ras Laffan region, Trump termed the move “unjustified and unfair.” He warned that any further attack on Qatar could significantly worsen tensions in the already volatile Middle East.
Trump highlighted the importance of Iran’s South Pars gas field, calling it extremely valuable and critical to the region’s energy supply. While he claimed Israel would not target the field again, he issued a stern warning that the US could take drastic action if Iran escalates further.

According to Trump, any potential US response would demonstrate a level of force “never seen before” by Iran. However, he added that he does not want further violence or destruction in the region, citing long-term consequences for Iran.
Despite his cautionary tone, Trump made it clear that another attack on Qatar’s LNG infrastructure would trigger a strong and possibly devastating response.
