(Web Desk): US President Donald Trump hinted at possible regime change in Cuba, saying Washington is currently focused on Iran but Havana could soon face major political change.

US President Donald Trump has suggested that Cuba could be the next country to face political change, following Washington’s focus on geopolitical tensions involving Iran and Venezuela.

In an interview with CNN, Trump openly discussed his administration’s strategic priorities and future targets, stating that while the United States can manage multiple global issues simultaneously, sometimes focusing on one major challenge at a time is more effective.

US Currently Focused on Iran

According to Trump, the US government is currently concentrating its efforts on Iran, amid rising tensions in the Middle East and ongoing geopolitical developments.

However, the American president also revealed that Cuba remains firmly on Washington’s agenda.

Trump said the Cuban government may not remain stable for long, predicting that significant political changes could occur in the country in the near future.

Trump Predicts Major Changes in Cuba

The US president argued that Cuba has faced economic and political difficulties for decades, suggesting that the situation has now reached a stage where Havana may be forced to reconsider its stance toward the United States.

Trump indicated that the Cuban leadership could eventually seek a deal with Washington as domestic pressures grow.

Marco Rubio May Play Key Role

Trump further hinted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio could be assigned a major role in handling Cuban affairs if developments move in that direction.

Rubio, who is of Cuban heritage, has long advocated for a tougher US policy toward Havana and has been a vocal supporter of democratic reforms in Cuba.

According to Trump, Washington will closely monitor developments before deciding how to proceed with its next steps.

Previous Remarks at White House Event

Just a day earlier, while speaking at an event at the White House, Trump also said it may only be a matter of time before Cuban-Americans living in the United States are able to return to their ancestral homeland freely.

His remarks have sparked fresh debate among analysts about whether Washington is preparing for political shifts in Cuba, similar to its past policies toward other governments in Latin America.

Experts believe that any significant US move regarding Cuba could have major geopolitical implications in the Caribbean and Latin America, potentially reshaping regional political dynamics.
