L’Oréal accused of hiding cancer risks linked to hair products

More than 12,000 similar lawsuits

The Arizona case comes as L’Oréal faces more than 12,000 lawsuits filed by women and their families.

The cases have been combined in a Chicago federal court under a multidistrict litigation process.

This procedure is used to manage large numbers of similar lawsuits more efficiently while allowing individual claims to continue.

The lawsuits involve women who say they developed cancer after using chemical hair relaxers.

The company’s position is that an association found in a study does not automatically prove that the products caused the illnesses.

Study raises concerns about uterine cancer
