(Web Desk): President Trump says Iran has agreed not only to refrain from developing nuclear weapons but also from acquiring them through any source.

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has agreed not only to refrain from developing nuclear weapons but also from obtaining such weapons through any country, organization, or external source as part of ongoing diplomatic negotiations.

Speaking in an interview with a U.S. news channel, Trump described the development as a significant milestone in the ongoing talks between Washington and Tehran. He expressed hope that the progress could help ease tensions in the Middle East and create conditions for greater regional stability.

Trump emphasized that his administration prefers diplomacy and negotiated agreements over confrontation and conflict. He said that if a comprehensive understanding is reached between the two sides, it could pave the way for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route, benefiting international trade and energy supplies.

According to the U.S. president, Washington’s primary condition remains unchanged: Iran must not become a nuclear-armed state under any circumstances. Trump stated that Iran’s initial position was limited to pledging not to manufacture nuclear weapons. However, following discussions and U.S. concerns, the proposed framework was expanded to include a commitment not to purchase, acquire, or seek access to nuclear weapons from any external source.

Political analysts believe that if the reported understanding translates into a formal agreement, it could mark a major step toward improving U.S.-Iran relations. Such a breakthrough could also contribute to greater stability across the Middle East and help restore confidence in global energy markets.
