(Web Desk): YouTube has introduced an AI avatar tool that allows users to clone themselves and create videos using digital versions of their face and voice.

YouTube has rolled out a new YouTube AI avatar tool that allows creators to clone themselves on YouTube using artificial intelligence.

The option will enable the user to create videos without necessarily being on camera, which will speed up the content creation process.

The users are able to make a digital representation of themselves using this tool of YouTube AI avatars by recording a short video and voice sample.

The system subsequently creates an avatar which can be visually and audibly similar to the original individual and creators are able to make short videos based on prompts.

As it has been reported, the clone yourself on YouTube option is most effective in the case of YouTube Shorts, where AI-generated avatars are able to feature in a video or even generate a new clip.

These clips are not very lengthy at the present moment, though the tool is supposed to become better with time as the AI technology will evolve.

YouTube has also added safety measures to the YouTube AI avatar tool. The avatars can only be used by the original creator and cannot be misused by others.

All videos created using this feature will be clearly labeled as AI-generated, ensuring transparency for viewers.

The company says the clone yourself on YouTube feature will be rolled out gradually and will only be available to users above 18 years of age with active channels.
