Apple unveils Ai-powered messages app with iOS 27
The upcoming Apple iOS 27 update is powered by Apple Intelligence and an advanced version of Siri AI.
Apple plans to release the update publicly in September 2026 alongside its next-generation iPhone lineup. Beta versions of iOS 27 are already available through Apple’s Beta Software Program.
One of the biggest AI messaging features is automatic conversation summaries. Instead of reading long message threads, users can instantly view an AI-generated overview that highlights the most important information.
Apple says Apple Intelligence makes it easier to catch up on conversations without opening every message.
Another feature allows Siri AI to draft replies that match the user’s writing style. By learning from previous chats with specific contacts, Siri can suggest responses that sound more natural and personal.
The Apple Messages app will also introduce intelligent one-tap suggestions. Users can instantly add events to Calendar, create Notes, call contacts mentioned in chats, draft emails, save photos and capture new pictures directly from conversations.
Apple says these AI messaging features will appear below relevant messages or above the keyboard.
Apple is also improving messaging between iPhone and Android users through RCS 2.7.
The new RCS 2.7 standard adds support for inline replies, emoji reactions, message editing, message deletion and digital drawings, making cross-platform conversations more interactive.
The Apple iOS 27 update also introduces a dedicated drawing tool inside the Apple Messages app.

Users can create sketches with markers, stickers, shapes, signatures and text before sending them.
Another improvement in iOS 27 is a redesigned sending progress bar that appears beneath outgoing messages, photos and voice notes.
Users who do not use voice dictation can also disable the microphone button through Settings in the Apple iOS 27 update.
Apple first revealed Apple Intelligence and the new messaging experience during WWDC, saying RCS 2.7 and smarter messaging tools are designed to make communication easier and more efficient for everyone.
