While talking to the media outside the Lahore High Court (LHC), the provincial minister said the government would not allow “digital terrorism”.
She said no one would be permitted to malign anyone on social media, adding the so-called revolutionaries abroad would not be able to upload a post against Pakistan.
She added no one could run Pakistan as they were running it, adding the government would lift the ban on X/Twitter after introducing new laws.
It merits a mention here that Azma Bukhari was at the LHC to attend a hearing of the petition she filed against an alleged deepfake video of her.
She had made the federal government, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activist Falak Javed Khan the respondents in the petition.
She requested the court to take legal action against Falak Javed and others for sharing a deepfake video on X, which she said, was shared by hundreds of people.
