The premium rates of Starlink internet service in Pakistan have come to the fore. The sources from the industry state that residential customers will pay a monthly subscription fee ranging from Rs6,800 to Rs28,000 (approximately USD 24 to USD 100) for internet speeds between 50 to 250 Mbps.
In addition, users will have to pay a one-time hardware cost of around Rs97,000 (about USD 350) for the required equipment before service activation.
The reports indicate that Starlink’s pricing strategy focuses on adjusting costs based on local purchasing power, demand, and the pricing structures of existing telecommunications services. This ensures that its offerings remain competitive in each market.
As the commercial and business entities demand higher internet speeds, the company will provide its services ranging from Rs80,000 to Rs95,000 (approximately USD 286 to USD 339). Hardware installation for commercial setups is estimated to cost around Rs220,000 (about USD 786).
Earlier, Starlink got registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Ministry of IT and Telecom. However, the company requires a license from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and register with the National Space Agency to start its services in the country.
Starlink provides its services in the United States at the cost of around $120. In Nigeria, the monthly cost commenced at $24. The company is providing its services in Malaysia at the cost of $45 (MYR 199). Australian residents pay AUD 139 per month (approximately USD 90) for Starlink’s services.
