Speaking to industrialists in Karachi chamber of commerce, he said that he recently met the Google executives in Islamabad, who expressed his interest in helping Pakistan in building a digital ecosystem.
They wanted to make Pakistan an IT hub, he said. This move reflect the increasing interest of world in Pakistan economy.
He called it a significant step in transforming Pakistan in a regional information technology hub.
He also highlighted the reforms that government is implementing in taxation, energy, state-owned enterprises, privatization and public finance department.
Aurangzeb noted that $14.5 million investment that is arriving in Pakistan is really significant.
He also gives message to all local and international stakeholders to stay together for sustainable progress.
He said that now the Pakistan’s economy is sound and moving in the right direction. Global agencies have now recognized the improvement in country’s macro economy.
The plan to build an AI ecosystem can also help the country to curb the leakage and corruption, particularly in cement, sugar and tobacco sector.
He also added that Egypt has also shown interest in adopting Pakistan style economic reforms.

He urged the local investors to also feel confident in the system, as their trust is essential for attracting foreign investment. He called for a shift away from the traditional economy toward new sectors such as the blue economy and AI-driven industries.
“We must create digital infrastructure to support AI-based development,” he said, adding that Google’s cooperation will be instrumental in this transformation.
