Apple Upgrade launches: Lease iPhones, MacBooks and iPads with easy monthly payments
The Apple Upgrade leasing program replaces the previous Apple Upgrade Program and is powered by Klarna.
Apple says the service is currently available for customers in the United States through its online store, Apple Store app and retail locations.
The company believes the new system will make premium Apple devices more accessible for customers who prefer flexible payment options.
Apple Upgrade leasing program now includes more devices
Unlike the old Apple Upgrade Program, which mainly focused on iPhones, the new Apple Upgrade leasing program allows customers to lease multiple Apple products under one service.
The programme includes iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Mac computers.
Apple says customers can complete an application within minutes. The company also confirmed that every application goes through a soft credit check that does not affect the customer's credit score.
The Apple Klarna lease system is designed to provide quick approval so customers can start using their devices without paying the full amount immediately.
Apple reveals monthly payment plans
Apple has announced different lease periods depending on the type of device.
Customers choosing an iPhone monthly payment plan or Apple Watch can select either a 12-month or 24-month lease.
Those leasing iPads or Macs can choose between 24-month and 36-month agreements.

What happens after the lease ends?
Once the lease period finishes, customers have three choices.
They can upgrade to a newer Apple device, purchase the leased device through a one-time payment or simply return it.
Apple also allows customers to add AppleCare protection for additional coverage against accidental damage and technical problems.
The company says the Apple device leasing model gives users more flexibility while reducing the financial pressure of buying expensive products outright.

Apple focuses on flexible ownership
Industry experts believe the Apple Klarna lease partnership could attract more customers who prefer smaller monthly payments over large one-time purchases.
The expanded Apple device leasing service also reflects growing demand for subscription-style ownership in the technology market.
With the addition of Macs and iPads, the Apple Upgrade Program has evolved into a broader solution for users who regularly upgrade their Apple devices.
