(Web Desk): Aryna Sabalenka, the defending women’s singles champion at the US Open, has claimed her fourth Grand Slam title, overcoming Amanda Anisimova in straight sets, 6–3, 7–6 (7–3).

Sabalenka’s victory marks a historic milestone: she is now the first woman to defend her US Open crown since Serena Williams in 2014. Remarkable poise and resilience were displayed by the world No. 1, as a late surge from Anisimova was resisted before closing out the match in the tense second-set tiebreak.

Visibly moved by the culmination of her hard-fought campaign, Sabalenka, overcome with emotion, sank to her knees in tears.

It is important to note that Sabalenka previously won the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024, and retained the US Open in 2024. These wins add to her growing Grand Slam tally, establishing her as a remarkably skilled player.

Sabalenka had suffered earlier defeats in the Australian Open and French Open finals earlier in 2025, which is why this year’s win is especially meaningful for her career and growth. Nonetheless, her triumph in New York underscores her growing legacy and mastery on the biggest stages.
