Usman Wazeer, Pakistan’s boxing star, returned home after winning the WBC OPBF Silver Welterweight title in Thailand by beating Indonesian fighter Ferdinandus.
This made him the first Pakistani to win this important title. But some groups in Pakistan have accused him of having fake fights and buying his title.
Wazeer called these accusations “baseless boxing politics.” He explained that he fights under global boxing organizations like the World Boxing Council (WBC), not local amateur groups in Pakistan.
His last fight was approved by international bodies and shown live in 168 countries.
Two Pakistani boxing groups, the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) and the Pakistan Pro Green Boxing Federation (PGBF), claimed that Wazeer’s undefeated record is fake.
They said money was paid to his opponents to lose and that referees were influenced. They also said his title is worth only about $3,000.
In response, the Pakistan Boxing Council (PBC) strongly rejected these claims. The PBC said these local groups don’t control professional boxing and that Wazeer’s records and titles are real and accepted worldwide.
They warned that such false claims harm the boxer’s reputation and Pakistan’s image in boxing.

The PBC praised Wazeer’s hard work and said professional boxing in Pakistan is growing, and no rumors can stop its progress.
Usman Wazeer’s recent win has made history for Pakistan by securing a respected international boxing title.
However, internal conflicts with Pakistani boxing federations have led to accusations against him, reflecting a divide between professional and amateur boxing bodies in the country.
The PBC’s strong defense of Wazeer emphasizes the growing importance of professional boxing in Pakistan and highlights the challenges athletes face from domestic politics.
