The Portugal captain, now 40, recently scored twice for Al-Nassr in a 3-0 win over Al Akhdoud. That took his total to 956 goals for club and country. Ronaldo joined Saudi club Al-Nassr in 2022 and signed a new two-year contract last year. The deal allows him to continue playing beyond his 42nd birthday.
After winning the Best Middle East Player award at the Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo said staying motivated is not easy, but his passion for football remains strong. He said he enjoys playing wherever he is and wants to keep going as long as his body allows.
The forward made it clear that his main goals are winning trophies and reaching the 1,000-goal mark. He added that injuries are the only thing that could stop him.
Last month, Ronaldo said in an interview that he plans to retire soon and admitted it will be an emotional moment. He said he expects it to be tough and believes he will be ready when the time comes. This season, Ronaldo has scored 13 goals in 14 matches for Al-Nassr. The club currently leads the Saudi Pro League by four points.

Despite his impressive scoring record, Al-Nassr has won only one major title since his arrival, the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. Ronaldo holds goal-scoring records for Portugal and Real Madrid and is the only player to score more than 100 goals for four different clubs.
He has also confirmed that the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be his final international tournament. Ronaldo famously captained Portugal to their first major title at Euro 2016
