LAHORE (Web Desk): Manchester United suffered a setback as Bruno Fernandes was forced off injured, while Morgan Rogers starred again in Aston Villa’s 2-1 victory.

Bruno Fernandes has been a key figure for Manchester United this season, starting every Premier League match and contributing five goals and seven assists. However, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim fears the midfielder could be sidelined for some time due to a soft tissue injury.

Fernandes was withdrawn at halftime during Sunday’s defeat at Aston Villa. He was replaced by Lisandro Martinez, who usually plays in defence but pushed forward in midfield and quickly tested the Villa goalkeeper with an early shot.

United tried to respond, but their hopes faded when Morgan Rogers struck again in the 57th minute. He curled another fine effort past Senne Lammens, sealing a memorable win for the home side.

Late chances came United’s way as substitute Shea Lacey fired straight at the goalkeeper, while Mason Mount sent a free kick over the crossbar. Villa stayed solid to secure the points, leaving United seventh in the league standings.

After the match, Rogers spoke about his goals and the support from the crowd. "It's hard work, it's long hours, and you want everyone to go in the top corner like that, so it's nice when one does go in," he said.

"You've just got to keep trying it and trying it, and sometimes it's your day, sometimes it isn't. Luckily, lately it has been, and I'm happy about that," Rogers added.

Rogers also showed his appreciation by giving his shirt to a fan after the final whistle. "The fans make football - playing with no fans and playing with fans are two completely different sports. It is so enjoyable playing here, we have the crowd behind us, and you can see it in our performances," he said.
