Argentina's turnaround began in the 79th minute when defender Cristian Romero headed home a cross from Messi to cut the deficit in half. Messi then leveled the score four minutes later, converting a rebound inside the box for his eighth goal of the tournament.
The decisive moment arrived in stoppage time. Enzo Fernandez completed the comeback by heading in a cross from Lautaro Martinez in the second minute of added time, sealing a 3-2 victory.

Egypt's coach, Hossam Hassan, expressed frustration after the match over a disputed penalty decision that went against his side late on, saying he was not convinced by how the match had unfolded. Argentina will next face Switzerland in the quarter-finals, scheduled for Saturday in Kansas City.
