(Web Desk) Former Al-Nasr goalkeeper Walid Abdullah confirmed that Don Cristiano Ronaldo wants to convert to Islam.

Waleed Abdullah says that Ronaldo was interested in Islam and that he may one day decide to convert.

Waleed made this controversial statement amid various reports that previously indicated that Ronaldo had shown interest in Islam due to his good adaptation and connection to Saudi culture.

“I was not afraid to speak in front of Ronaldo in the locker room for the first time. I stood up and spoke.” With everyone as the team leader, and I did not feel as nervous as some said,” Walid said on the “Last Session” program on the “Saudi Arabia” channel.

He added: “I was close to Cristiano at the beginning, because he was... He does not know the culture of the country, the club, and other things. He welcomed that and always asked me about some details.”

He continued: “Ronaldo would like to convert to Islam I spoke to him about this matter, and he was interested in it. He once prostrated on the field after scoring, in addition to always urging the players to pray and other matters related to the Islamic religion.

"When Ronaldo prostrated, all the players shouted in one voice (Allahu Akbar). He demands that the players pray regularly, and when he hears the call to prayer, he asks the coach to stop training," he noted.

“Regardless of whether he converted to Islam or not, he is a committed and disciplined player to the highest degree, and this is the reason why he has reached this position,” the goalkeeper said.
