Lahore (Web Desk): The Quetta Gladiators have set a competitive target of 167 runs for the Multan Sultans, as the mid-table battle for HBL PSL 11 supremacy intensifies.

After being put into bat, the Gladiators finished their 20 overs at 166/7. The innings was anchored by captain Saud Shakeel, who played a composed knock of 56 off 41 balls. Despite losing partners at the other end, Shakeel’s leadership ensured the Gladiators maintained a steady run rate throughout the powerplay and middle overs.

The momentum shifted in the death overs thanks to a blistering cameo from Bevon Jacobs. Jacobs smashed 49 off just 31 balls, clearing the ropes three times to propel Quetta to a defendable total before falling in the final over.

Multan’s bowling attack was led by Mohammad Nawaz, who haunted his former franchise by claiming 3/30. Meanwhile, young sensation Arafat Minhas proved nearly impossible to hit, finishing with remarkable figures of 2/14.

The Sultans now require 167 runs at 8.35 per over to secure their third win of the season.
